Quick Answer

How much downtime does XERF have?

XERF is a non-surgical radiofrequency treatment, and recovery is generally different from treatments that intentionally resurface or remove the outer layers of skin. However, individual responses vary, and temporary redness, warmth, tenderness, or other short-term effects may occur depending on the treatment area, settings, and individual response. Your provider will give you specific expectations based on your treatment plan.

Follow your provider's individualized instructions. This article is educational and is not a substitute for medical guidance.

Exact timing depends on your individual treatment, skin response, and provider protocol. This summary reflects general patterns, not universal guarantees.

One of the first questions patients ask about any tightening treatment is not only what it may improve β€” but what recovery actually looks like.

That is exactly the right question. The best treatment is not simply the one that produces the most impressive outcome on paper. It is the one that fits the patient's skin, their goals, and their ability to manage the healing process in a way that is realistic, comfortable, and genuinely planned for.

XERF is a radiofrequency-based skin-tightening treatment designed to address facial and neck laxity, lower-face definition, and tissue quality from within β€” without the surface disruption of ablative resurfacing. But "less disruption to the surface" does not mean no healing, no planning, and no aftercare. The treatment still initiates a tissue response that needs to be understood and supported.

At Youthful Magnolia, we approach recovery the same way we approach treatment planning: with honesty, realistic expectations, and a genuine investment in each patient's experience from the consultation through the final result. This article is designed to give you the recovery context you deserve before you decide whether XERF is right for your skin, your goals, and your schedule.

01

Why Is XERF Recovery Different
From Laser Resurfacing?

XERF uses radiofrequency energy to heat the dermis and upper subcutaneous tissue, stimulating collagen contraction and new collagen production over time. It is not the same category of treatment as ablative or fractional laser resurfacing, which intentionally removes or disrupts the outer layers of the skin to trigger a surface-level renewal response.

Because the technologies work differently, recovery experiences can differ. Laser resurfacing creates a controlled surface injury that the skin must visibly heal from β€” which often involves peeling, crusting, and a more pronounced visible recovery arc. XERF delivers energy to deeper tissue without intentionally removing the skin surface, which is why its visible recovery profile is generally different from ablative resurfacing.

This does not mean one technology is universally safer or better than the other. It means they address different concerns at different tissue levels, and the right choice depends on what you are trying to improve. A patient whose primary concern is surface texture, pigmentation, or acne scarring may be better served by resurfacing; a patient whose primary concern is laxity, tissue quality, or lower-face definition may be better served by radiofrequency tightening. Your provider can help you understand which category fits your goals.

02

What "downtime" really means
with XERF.

"Downtime" is one of the most overused and under-defined terms in aesthetics. When patients search for "XERF downtime," they are often looking for a single number β€” a day, two days, a week β€” that they can drop into their calendar and move on. The reality is more useful when it is understood in terms of categories rather than just duration.

For some patients, XERF downtime means a day or two of visible redness and skin warmth that they prefer to manage quietly at home. For others, it means a period of skin sensitivity or dryness that does not prevent activity but requires more careful skincare for several days. For most, it falls somewhere between these experiences β€” manageable, real, and worth planning for honestly.

There are distinct types of downtime that matter differently depending on your situation:

Visible downtime

The period when skin appears noticeably reactive β€” flushed, warm, mildly swollen. This is the window that most affects social and professional scheduling. It is real and visible, and it should be planned for β€” even if it is relatively brief for most XERF patients.

Social downtime

The window where a patient may prefer not to be in close social situations, on camera, or in professional settings that require their best-looking skin. For XERF, this tends to be shorter than for ablative resurfacing, but it still deserves a direct conversation before scheduling.

Functional downtime

The period where certain activities β€” heat exposure, strenuous exercise, aggressive skincare β€” should be modified or avoided. This may extend beyond the visible healing phase and is an important part of aftercare planning.

Result timeline

XERF results develop gradually as the body's collagen-remodeling response progresses. The visible healing phase is only the beginning. The actual tightening and tissue quality improvements emerge over weeks to months β€” and should not be evaluated during the healing window.

Understanding these distinctions changes the recovery conversation. XERF is not a procedure that removes someone from their life for an extended period β€” but it is a treatment that requires real preparation, genuine aftercare, and patient awareness that the visible healing phase and the result arc are two different timelines.

03

Why recovery is not the same
for every patient.

One of the most common points of frustration patients express about recovery is comparison β€” looking at someone else's experience, seeing a different timeline or response, and wondering whether something has gone wrong. Almost always, the answer is no. What differs is the treatment, the skin, the area treated, and the aftercare.

Treatment intensity and parameters

XERF can be delivered across a range of intensities. A more conservative treatment plan will produce a milder visible healing arc than a more corrective one. The parameters chosen are directly connected to the expected recovery experience β€” which is why understanding the plan before treatment is essential.

Treatment area

The face and neck respond differently to treatment. Areas around the jawline, lower cheeks, and neck may have different tissue density, sensitivity, and healing characteristics. Patients treating multiple areas may experience a broader visible recovery than those treating a single, smaller area. The treatment map matters.

Skin type and baseline skin quality

Individual skin types and baseline skin quality all influence how the skin responds to energy-based treatment. Some skin types react more visibly in the early healing window. Some have a more subtle immediate response but more sustained collagen-remodeling activity. Neither is better β€” they are simply different, and they are factored into treatment planning.

Individual healing biology

Healing is a biological process that varies from person to person. Two patients who received the same XERF treatment in the same area may follow slightly different healing arcs β€” not because one experienced a complication, but because their skin's cellular healing response, inflammatory signaling, and collagen synthesis rate are individual. This is physiology, not inconsistency.

Aftercare adherence

Patients who follow provider-specific aftercare instructions consistently β€” appropriate gentle care, consistent sun protection, avoidance of heat and activity stressors β€” tend to have smoother and faster visible recovery. Aftercare does not change the underlying biology, but it supports the skin through the healing arc without unnecessary friction.

04

What Might My Skin Look Like
Immediately After XERF?

Immediately after treatment, the treated area may feel warm and look mildly flushed. Some patients may experience temporary redness, mild swelling, tenderness, or sensitivity in the treated zone. These are short-term responses that reflect the tissue's reaction to the energy delivered.

Not every patient experiences all of these responses, and the degree to which they occur depends on individual skin response, treatment area, and settings. We do not say that every patient experiences redness or swelling β€” we say that some patients may, and your provider will discuss what to expect based on your specific plan.

Warmth

The treated area may feel warm immediately after treatment as the tissue responds to the radiofrequency energy delivered.

Temporary redness

Some patients may experience mild flushing or redness in the treated area. This is a temporary response and typically begins subsiding within the first few days.

Mild swelling

Some patients may notice mild swelling, particularly in areas like the lower face or jaw. This is a temporary response and typically begins subsiding within the first few days.

Tenderness

The treated area may feel tender or sensitive to the touch. This is a temporary response that typically resolves as the tissue settles.

Sensitivity

The skin may feel more sensitive than usual immediately after treatment. Gentle care and avoiding irritants supports the skin through this phase.

Tightness

Some patients describe a sensation of tightness in the treated area. This is a temporary response and typically resolves as the tissue adjusts.

05

What Should I Expect During
Early XERF Recovery?

The early healing window is the most visible and the most important to understand before treatment. Here is a calm, realistic arc of what may occur β€” specific timelines will vary by treatment parameters and individual response.

Early Recovery β€” A Realistic Arc

Treatment

Hours 0–6

Treatment day

The treated area typically feels warm and may appear flushed or mildly red immediately following treatment. Mild swelling in the treated zone β€” particularly around the lower face or jaw β€” may occur and reflects the tissue's initial response to the energy delivered. Topical support and gentle care begin right away.

Day

The first full days

Day 1–2

Redness and warmth, when present, are typically at their most visible during this window. Some patients experience mild swelling, particularly if the neck or under-jaw area was treated. The skin may feel more sensitive than usual. Most patients prefer quieter days during this phase β€” remote work, low social engagement, and consistent gentle aftercare.

Day

Transition begins

Day 2–4

Visible redness and swelling typically begin to subside meaningfully. The skin may still feel slightly warmer or tighter than normal, and some patients notice mild dryness or skin sensitivity during this phase. Gentle moisturization and consistent sun protection are the primary supportive actions.

Day

Surface normalization

Day 5–7

Most patients see significant improvement in visible post-treatment signs by the end of the first week. The skin surface typically looks closer to its pre-treatment appearance, though it may still feel slightly sensitive. The deeper collagen-remodeling process that produces the treatment's results is well underway β€” but results are not yet meaningfully visible at this stage.

These phases reflect general patterns. Individual timelines vary based on treatment parameters, area, and personal healing biology. Follow your provider's individualized instructions.

XERF skin tightening consultation and planning at Youthful Magnolia Fort Worth

Understanding the early healing arc before treatment β€” not after β€” is what makes recovery planning genuinely useful.

06

What the first week
may involve.

By the end of the first week, most patients notice that the most visible signs of healing have substantially resolved. The skin typically looks closer to its pre-treatment state on the surface β€” and in some cases, may already appear slightly lifted or more defined, though the full result is still developing. Here is what the first week may involve:

Surface normalization progresses

Most visible redness and swelling resolves within the first several days. By mid-week, most patients' skin looks largely normal on the surface β€” though it may still feel slightly sensitive or drier than usual.

Results are not yet visible

The collagen and elastin stimulation that produces XERF's tightening effect develops gradually. Do not judge the outcome by what the skin looks like at day 3 or 7. The result arc extends over weeks to months.

Dryness or tightness may be present

Some patients experience mild dryness, skin tightness, or subtle texture shifts in the treated area during the first week. This is a normal part of the tissue's response to the treatment energy and resolves as healing progresses.

Aftercare remains active

Gentle skincare, consistent sun protection, and avoidance of heat and strenuous exercise continue through the first week. Even when the skin looks recovered, the tissue beneath is still actively remodeling.

Social timing can be managed

Most patients with standard treatment parameters feel comfortable returning to normal social and professional visibility within a few days. Your provider will discuss timing based on your specific plan.

Comparison to others is misleading

If a friend or online source describes a very different recovery, it is most likely because they received a different treatment plan, in a different area, with different parameters. Your provider's guidance is the only relevant benchmark.

07

XERF Recovery Timeline

The following timeline reflects general patterns based on current clinical guidance. Individual timelines vary β€” your provider will give you expectations specific to your treatment plan.

Immediately after treatment

The treated area may feel warm and appear mildly flushed. Some patients may experience mild swelling or sensitivity. These are temporary responses that reflect the tissue's reaction to the energy delivered.

Early recovery

In the first few days, temporary redness, warmth, and mild swelling β€” when present β€” typically begin subsiding. The skin may feel more sensitive than usual. Gentle care, hydration, and sun protection are the primary supportive actions.

Following days

Visible signs typically continue to subside. The skin may still feel slightly warmer, tighter, or drier than normal. Most patients return to normal surface appearance within the first week, though individual timelines vary.

Following weeks

The surface has typically normalized. The deeper collagen-remodeling process continues beneath the surface. Some patients may begin noticing early changes in skin quality or tightness, though results develop gradually.

Longer-term results

Collagen stimulation continues to develop over the following months. Progressive improvement in tissue quality and tightness may become more noticeable. The full result arc extends over weeks to months β€” not days.

08

Can I Go Back to Work
After XERF?

Whether you can return to work after XERF depends on individual response, treatment area, treatment intensity, personal comfort, and provider instructions. There is no universal answer that applies to every patient.

Patients who work remotely or in lower-visibility environments may feel comfortable returning sooner. Patients with public-facing, on-camera, or high-social professional roles may prefer to allow a longer buffer before returning to those contexts, depending on how visible the post-treatment signs are.

The most honest answer is that timing depends on your specific treatment plan and your personal comfort with being seen during the healing arc β€” which is why this is a direct conversation at your consultation. Your provider will help you plan timing that fits your work and your treatment.

09

Can I Wear Makeup
After XERF?

Makeup timing after XERF depends on the specific treatment performed, the area treated, and how your skin is healing. Your provider will advise when to resume makeup based on your individual treatment and skin response.

We generally recommend letting the skin settle before applying makeup, but the exact timing depends on your individual treatment. Do not apply makeup before the healing surface is ready, as it can introduce irritants and disrupt the aftercare process.

10

Can I Exercise
After XERF?

Your provider will give you specific guidance on resuming exercise based on your treatment. Strenuous activity that raises body temperature may be avoided for a period after treatment, as heat and sweating can affect the healing tissue.

We do not recommend a universal restart timeline β€” the appropriate timing depends on your treatment parameters, area, and individual response. Follow your provider's individualized instructions rather than general guidance from other patients or online sources.

11

What Skincare Should I Use
After XERF?

Aftercare typically involves gentle cleansing, hydration, and consistent sun protection. Supporting the skin's barrier β€” rather than challenging it β€” is the priority during the healing phase.

For active ingredients such as retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, exfoliants, and prescription products, we do not provide universal restart timelines. Your provider will guide you on resuming these products based on your skin's response and your specific treatment plan.

Gentle cleansing

Use gentle, fragrance-free cleansers during the healing phase. Avoid abrasive scrubs or aggressive cleansing.

Hydration

Support the skin's barrier with appropriate moisturization. Your provider can recommend products suited to your skin.

Sun protection

Consistent, broad-spectrum sun protection is essential after treatment. Your provider will advise on specific sun protection guidance.

Active ingredients

Retinoids, exfoliating acids, and prescription products should be restarted only when your provider advises. Do not resume actives on a generic schedule.

12

What About Sun Exposure
After XERF?

Sun protection is an important part of routine skincare and may be especially relevant after energy-based treatments. Consistent, broad-spectrum sun protection supports the skin through the healing phase and protects the investment you are making in your skin.

We do not invent strict avoidance windows. Your provider will advise on sun protection as part of your aftercare guidance, based on your skin and treatment. In general, direct sun exposure should be minimized during the early healing phase, and sun protection should be maintained consistently thereafter.

13

Does XERF Cause Redness?

Temporary redness may occur in some patients. Whether redness occurs, and how long it lasts, depends on individual skin response, treatment area, and treatment parameters.

When redness does occur, it typically begins subsiding within the first few days. Some patients may experience residual pinkness or sensitivity slightly beyond that window, depending on how their skin responds. We do not guarantee redness will or will not happen β€” your provider will discuss what to expect based on your skin and treatment plan.

14

Can XERF Cause Swelling?

Some patients may experience mild, temporary swelling in the treated area. Swelling, when it occurs, typically begins subsiding within the first few days. Areas around the lower face or jaw may show swelling more visibly due to the tissue's natural tendency to retain fluid during the healing process.

If you experience swelling that is unexpected, persistent, or concerning, contact Youthful Magnolia. We do not diagnose complications through this article β€” please reach out to your provider directly if you have concerns about your recovery.

15

Is Skin Tender After XERF?

Some patients may experience temporary tenderness or sensitivity in the treated area. This is a short-term response that reflects the tissue's reaction to the energy delivered and typically resolves as the tissue settles.

We do not use universal pain scores or describe the treatment as painless. Comfort varies by patient, treatment area, and settings. Your provider will discuss what to expect and what options are available to support your comfort during and after treatment.

16

What's Normal After XERF β€”
and When Should You Call Your Provider?

Understanding the difference between expected temporary responses and signs that warrant contacting your provider is an important part of recovery. This section is educational and is not a substitute for medical guidance β€” when in doubt, contact Youthful Magnolia.

Expected temporary responses

Temporary warmth in the treated area

Mild, temporary redness or flushing

Mild, temporary swelling

Temporary tenderness or sensitivity

Mild dryness or tightness

Sensation of tightness that resolves as tissue settles

These responses, when they occur, are typically temporary and begin subsiding within the first few days. Individual responses vary.

Contact Youthful Magnolia if:

Symptoms are unexpected, persistent, or concerning

Redness or swelling that does not begin subsiding as expected

Pain that is more than mild or that worsens

Any signs of infection or unusual skin changes

Any response that concerns you β€” when in doubt, reach out

For urgent or emergency medical concerns, contact emergency services or seek immediate medical care. This article is educational and is not a substitute for medical evaluation.

17

When Will I See
XERF Results?

XERF works through collagen stimulation, which develops gradually over time rather than immediately after treatment. This is an important part of the treatment conversation β€” results require patience and should not be judged by what the skin looks like in the first week.

There is a distinction between any early perceived changes and the progressive biological response that produces the treatment's tightening effect. Some patients may notice early signs of tightening or tissue improvement within the first several weeks. Progressive improvement continues over the following months as new collagen matures and tissue remodels.

Your provider will discuss the realistic timeline for your treatment plan. We do not invent specific result dates β€” the timeline depends on individual biology, treatment parameters, and the area treated.

18

Why Low Downtime Doesn't Mean
Instant Results

Recovery time and biological result development are different concepts β€” and understanding the difference is one of the most important parts of setting realistic expectations for XERF.

A treatment can have limited visible recovery while tissue response develops progressively beneath the surface. XERF is a good example: the visible healing phase may be relatively brief, but the collagen remodeling that produces the tightening and tissue quality improvements develops over weeks to months. The surface looks normal long before the result is fully visible.

This is why we encourage patients not to evaluate their results during the healing window. The first week tells you about recovery β€” not about results. Results develop gradually, and patience is part of the treatment process.

19

How Long Can
XERF Results Last?

How long results last depends on factors including age, skin quality, degree of laxity, biological response, treatment plan, ongoing aging, and maintenance strategy. We do not promise a specific duration universally.

Because XERF works by stimulating the body's own collagen production, results are not permanent β€” the aging process continues after treatment. Many patients return for maintenance sessions to sustain their results. Your provider will discuss maintenance and what to expect based on your individual plan.

20

How Many XERF Treatments
Will I Need?

Treatment planning depends on anatomy, skin laxity, treatment area, goals, and individual response. Some patients may have a single session; others may have a series. We do not recommend a universal number.

Your provider will build a plan based on your specific goals and response. The number of treatments that makes sense for you depends on what you are trying to improve, the degree of laxity, and how your tissue responds to the treatment β€” not on a one-size-fits-all protocol.

21

XERF Downtime vs
Laser Resurfacing

XERF and laser resurfacing are different categories of treatment, and their recovery profiles differ accordingly.

XERF uses radiofrequency energy to heat deeper tissue and stimulate collagen production without intentionally removing the skin surface. Laser resurfacing uses laser energy to intentionally remove or disrupt the outer skin layers, triggering a surface-level renewal response.

Because laser resurfacing creates a controlled surface injury, its visible recovery typically involves peeling, crusting, and a more pronounced healing arc. XERF's visible recovery is generally different because the skin surface is not intentionally disrupted. Neither is universally better β€” they address different concerns at different tissue levels.

If you are comparing options, you may find it helpful to read about HALO, HALO TRIBRID, or MOXI to understand how resurfacing recovery compares. Your provider can help you determine which category fits your goals.

22

XERF vs Ultherapy:
How Does Recovery Compare?

XERF and Ultherapy use different energy types β€” radiofrequency vs focused ultrasound β€” and work at different tissue depths, so recovery experiences may differ. Ultherapy delivers focused energy to the SMAS layer, which can involve more discomfort during treatment; XERF delivers broader RF heating to the dermis and upper subcutaneous tissue.

Both work through collagen stimulation, so results from both develop gradually over time rather than immediately. The recovery comparison depends on treatment area, parameters, and individual response.

For a full comparison of the two treatments β€” technology, depth, comfort, results, and candidacy β€” read our full XERF vs Ultherapy comparison.

23

XERF vs Microneedling RF:
How Is Recovery Different?

XERF and microneedling radiofrequency (microneedling RF) are both radiofrequency-based treatments, but they deliver energy differently β€” and their recovery profiles differ accordingly.

XERF delivers radiofrequency energy through the skin surface to heat deeper tissue without breaking the skin. Microneedling RF uses insulated needles to deliver radiofrequency energy directly into the dermis, creating controlled micro-injuries in the process.

Because microneedling RF creates micro-channels in the skin, its recovery may involve more visible surface response (pinpoint redness, mild swelling) than XERF, which does not break the skin surface. Both work through collagen stimulation, so results from both develop gradually. The right choice depends on your goals, skin, and anatomy β€” your provider can help you compare.

24

Does XERF Recovery Differ
by Treatment Area?

Treatment response can vary by area and treatment plan. The face, jawline, and neck have different tissue density, sensitivity, and healing characteristics, which can influence the recovery experience.

Areas around the jawline and lower face may show swelling more visibly due to the tissue's natural tendency to retain fluid during healing. The neck may respond differently from the face due to differences in tissue structure. Patients treating multiple areas may experience a broader visible recovery than those treating a single, smaller area.

For a deeper look at neck-specific tightening strategy, see our guide on non-surgical neck tightening options β€” where XERF recovery is discussed in the context of neck laxity and crepey skin.

25

How Should I Prepare
for XERF?

Preparation starts before treatment day. Your provider will give you specific pre-treatment instructions based on your treatment plan. Patients who arrive at the appointment with their aftercare products already gathered, their social and professional schedule appropriately managed, and a realistic understanding of the recovery arc tend to have notably better experiences.

If you are taking any medications, supplements, or prescription products, or have questions about skincare before treatment, discuss these with your provider at your consultation. Any medication changes must be discussed with your appropriate healthcare professional β€” do not change medications based on this article.

The most important preparation step is a thorough pre-treatment consultation where nothing about recovery is left to assumption.

Amy's Perspective

Recovery is not an afterthought. It is part of the treatment β€” and it gets the same depth of preparation and planning at Youthful Magnolia that the treatment itself does. When I talk to patients about XERF, the downtime conversation is never something I minimize to close a booking. It is something I walk through carefully, because a patient who understands their recovery is a patient who has a better experience.

What I consistently see is that prepared patients β€” those who know what to expect, have cleared the right window in their schedule, and have followed their aftercare consistently β€” have fundamentally different experiences than those who were given vague general guidance and left to manage the rest on their own. The difference is not in the treatment. It is in the preparation and support surrounding it.

XERF is a treatment that I genuinely believe in for the right patients and the right concerns. Non-surgical skin tightening that stimulates the body's own tissue renewal β€” without the recovery commitment of more ablative approaches β€” is a meaningful option for patients managing jowling, lower-face definition, or neck laxity alongside their other aesthetic goals. You can read more about how I compare it to Ultherapy in my Ultherapy vs XERF guide.

But the treatment needs to fit the patient's life β€” not just their skin. And the only way to know whether it does is to have an honest conversation before scheduling. That is the conversation I want every patient to have.

Amy Review Required β€” Draft, Not for Publication Without Approval

"Downtime is only one part of choosing a treatment. I also want patients thinking about what we're trying to improve, how the technology works, what kind of result is realistic, and whether it actually makes sense for their anatomy. A treatment having less downtime doesn't automatically make it the right treatment."

Draft direction pending Amy Robbins' review. This quote is not published as Amy's direct words until approved.

"The right treatment is not just the one that can create a good result. It's the one that makes sense for the patient's skin, their goals, and their ability to recover comfortably and confidently."

How to decide if the recovery
fits your schedule.

Recovery planning is practical planning. Here is how to think about timing for the most common real-life scheduling scenarios.

Work schedule

Patients who work remotely or from home may feel comfortable returning to low-demand work activities within a day or two. Patients with public-facing, high-social, or on-camera professional environments typically prefer to plan a longer buffer before returning to those contexts. The determining factor is whether visible skin reactivity during the healing arc would create disruption or discomfort in your specific work environment.

Social events

Any social event where you want to look and feel your best should ideally be planned with a comfortable buffer after treatment. For casual, lower-visibility situations, many patients feel comfortable appearing within a few days. The most conservative and recommended approach is a buffer of at least one week for anything significant. Discuss timing with your provider.

Travel

Travel during the healing window introduces sun exposure, climate variability, and limited access to aftercare products β€” all of which are best avoided. If travel is planned, waiting until the skin has visibly recovered and ensuring rigorous sun protection throughout is essential. Avoid scheduling treatment immediately before air travel, heat-intensive travel, or remote travel where you cannot manage aftercare.

Photography and public appearance

On-camera appearances, headshots, brand content, or professional photography should be planned after the visible healing is complete and the early signs of collagen improvement have begun to emerge. Scheduling photography in the first week after XERF is not advisable. Discuss timing with your provider.

Weddings and milestone events

For any milestone event where appearance is a priority, XERF should ideally be scheduled well in advance β€” allowing full visible recovery and the beginning of result emergence. Scheduling XERF close to a major event is rarely advisable and should be discussed directly with your provider before proceeding.

29

What a consultation at Youthful Magnolia
may include.

01

Direct skin and tissue evaluation

Amy assesses your skin, facial anatomy, and tissue quality directly β€” evaluating the lower face, neck, and jawline for the specific pattern and degree of laxity or volume change that is most relevant to your goals.

02

Goal and concern discussion

A clear conversation about what you want to address β€” lower face definition, neck laxity, jawline, or a combination β€” and how those goals map to XERF versus other available tightening or rejuvenation options.

03

Downtime tolerance assessment

A direct conversation about your schedule, professional and social obligations, and whether the recovery window XERF requires is genuinely compatible with your life at this time.

04

Comparison to other options

For patients who may benefit from a different approach, Amy will discuss how XERF compares to Ultherapy, HALO, full facial balancing, or other treatments that may produce a better outcome for the specific anatomy and goals presented.

05

Aftercare protocol review

What products, practices, and timelines your aftercare will involve β€” so that nothing about recovery is left to chance or improvisation on treatment day.

06

Honest expectations and realistic results

Every consultation ends with the patient having a clear understanding of what their treatment can realistically deliver, over what timeline, and what the recovery arc will likely involve for their specific plan.
